The use of the terms “patient” and “client” are interchangeable throughout the whole of this website.
As a healthcare provider, I abide by the rules and regulations regarding confidentiality and privacy in regards to health information as defined under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
I maintain industry-standard intake forms and SOAP notes on my clients. These notes detail the chief complaint, observations, and treatments provided for each massage session. These notes may be kept electronically encrypted and/or in secured hard copies.
In plain language, this means that I will never share your private personal health conditions or identity without your expressed written permission or a valid court order demanding this release.
This agreement to confidentiality, however, can be breached by actions on your part, mainly interactions on social media, submission of a testimonial or review, or referral to other clients that would identify yourself as a patient.
In other words, if you leave a comment on this website or on Facebook that refers to your treatment of a specific condition, such as frozen shoulder syndrome, scoliosis, etc., this does not constitute a violation of HIPAA or your privacy.
Payment and Credit Card Information
When you book an online appointment, you are interacting with a third-party vendor, Square, which abides by their own set of rules and regulations regarding payment types. They provide their own digital security and undergo rigorous testing and quality assurance protocols to maintain the integrity of their databases.
Square will ask you to provide a credit card to hold a reservation. This credit card information is never stored on www.aaronharriscmt.com and I do not personally have access to the card number. The card is held simply to allow me to charge you for services rendered, or a No-Show Fee in the event that you miss your appointment or cancel with less than 24 hours notice as noted in my Cancellation Policy.
Email Subscriptions and Marketing
I will never sell or share your provided email address to any third parties. Your email address will be used for direct communication regarding your appointments, treatment, and any administrative issues that require contact with you.
If you choose to signup for my mailing list, please be assured that any marketing material sent to you was authored and sent by me personally. This mailing list is used to offer discounts and health information and will be limited to no more than two emails per month. You have the option to unsubscribe from this list at any time.
